CAMPAIGN THEMES

Creating a catchy, and descriptive, campaign theme can help to establish the identity of a major fundraising campaign.  Generally, the problem becomes that they all sound alike - defeating the whole purpose of having a campaign slogan in the first place.

Selecting a campaign theme should generally be done by the initial campaign leadership group, including staff and board.  It should describe the reasons for the campaign and tie into any on-going marketing efforts the organization is undertaking.

We've listed a whole series of possible campaign themes below.  Some are pretty good.  Some are, well, not so good.  It might be beneficial for the entire list to be presented to the campaign leadership group and use it to provoke a discussion.

A Special Note:  Special thanks to the development staff of Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa.  They came up with about half of these suggestions in the course of their campaign planning .
